I was referred to Dr. Tanen by the emergency room at Sibley hospital. When I called to schedule an appointment I asked if he had experience to handle my type of thyroid condition. I was told by his receptionist that he did not. When I asked if he knew of another endocrinologist that might have experience that I could call, I was told that because he wasn’t accepting me as his patient he also would not offer another possible doctor. Very disappointing.
I was a patient of Dr. Tanen starting in 2015-2016 based off a referral from another doctor. During the time of treatment, he was helpful and professional. When my insurance changed, I decided that for cost reasons, it would be easier to handle my treatment through my primary care which was fine given that my condition was easily monitored. When that recently changed, I was instructed to see a specialist and was once again recommended to go to Dr. Tanen. Most of the bad reviews I see are from people who have never met Dr.Tanen, Or had a problem with their insurance. He is a wonderful Dr., very smart, trustworthy, genuine, straight to the point and always available. Not only do I give him credit along with another Dr. for saving my life, I give him credit for being available In dire need. There was a time when he called me back within 5 minutes of talking with an answering service around 8:30PM just to Help! Thank you Dr. Tanen
My wife comes here every now and then for blood work when needed. Parking in front and around the building.
This practice will make a call of whether or not you're WORTH seeing based on 0% of the information. I got no explanation but even before Dr. Tanen had my patient history, his practice declined seeing me. He came highly recommended but I don't see why.
