One of the overall BEST dental experiences I have had. Dr. John Barrett and nurse Pam provided the most professional, informative and relaxing setting I could ever hope for. Comparing this to my previous experience, the phrase "I'd rather have a root canal" has a much different meaning to me now. If another root canal is in my future I'll be back.
From our very first consult, Dr. Barrett put us at ease and gave us confidence to move forward with treatment. He patiently answered all of my questions and calmed our many fears. Dr. Barrett and his entire staff were truly wonderful with my daughter. His numbing technique is exceptional. My daughter experienced zero pain during the procedure. Got two root canals - found that there isn't a respect for patient waiting time. Both times there was too much down time sitting in the chair - waiting The second appointment at 8:30 - call back at 8:45 - work starts at 9:30. Doctor left after work was done and I was left waiting for 15 minutes before he returns to tell me what he did so I could leave. Got charged a $375 charge not included in the estimate - for a filling that is standard for a root canal. Hoping the work performed was better than the patient service.
I was recently referred to Dr Thousand, by my general dentist. I advised him and his staff how petrified I am of the dentist, I made this extremely clear.(I had been traumatized by 2 dentists, one in childhood, one as a much younger adult). Medication is always needed, some use nitrous oxide, some use meds, this office used meds. I don’t prefer one or the other, both work for me.
