DR Casci is kind, caring and goes out of his way to be helpful. He is very competent and thorough.

Excellent doctor and genuinely cares for patients
I went to the South County Hospital ED for care one night with a stomach ailment. I was seen by the doctor who treated me OK. The symptoms resolved and I was discharged. He was the only doctor I saw. The hospital took my insurance without any problem. However, I received a few months later a huge balance bill from his practice and eventually from a collection agency. How can you with a clear conscience work in an ED and not accept all comers and their insurances?
Business response:
As an Emergency Department at a not for profit hospital all insurances are accepted, and all, including uninsured, are cared for and never turned away. While I work there, I will continue to see patients regardless of ability to pay or their insurance, that's one reason I chose to do Emergency Medicine. Not sure what is meant by balance billing, as it is not permitted in RI. a call to our financial service dept or ER head would hopefully clear this up. The ER Dr has no influence over billing.
