Dr. Wilcon is ok at best. I have been seeing him for more than 10 years. If there were other Dr's in the area I would have left. What's even worse is his head Nurse(Karen). She basically yells at you for their mistakes. She talks over you and is very unprofessional. I don't like leaving a negative review but I speak the truth.
Where Dr. Wilcon is incredible, his nursing staff (specifically Karen) is an absolute joke! She tells patients they can’t make their own appointments and cancels them when the patient does make one. She refused to let my husband see him for a medication review and refused to let him see him prior to his next appointment (August). She is an absolute horror to deal with and when you meet her she smells like coffee and cigarettes. Not how a nursing staff personnel should present themselves.
Poor communicator and places medical decisions on family that already has too much to worry about…
Our elderly mother switched to Dr. Wilcon a year ago. Terrible experience...we got her out of there ASAP! After 1 year, this doctor had no idea she was taking Tresiba and refused to refill it. He told me to go to her cardiac doctor; she said it's prescribed by the PCD. Then at the last minute after many calls to his office - with only 2 pills left - he said our mother would have to have blood work to check her A1C. Really. Dr Wilcon is very thorough, and very knowledgeable, a great primary care Dr, he answered all of my questions, and has a great staff in the DKMG Plainfield office, I would highly recommend this practice.
