Dr.Ellenbogen is a hero. He is a angel who performs mirecals on his patients daily. He has saved many many lives and continues to do so after so many years. 13 years ago in 2007 he performed brain surgery on me and cried because I almost lost my sight. I was only 12 at the time and he hugged and embraced me before hand and said he was astounded to have me as a patient and was blessed to have worked with me. I have cushings disease still to this day and I have seen him here and there at clinic. I highly recommend him to anyon... read more

In 2005 I was diagnosed with a tethered spinal cord that was causing nerve issues & difficulty for a lifetime in hindsight. Richard was great from start to finish, a good listener, I didn't feel rushed, he was easy to talk with & very professional. Richard & his team performed the untethering surgery at Harborview. At the time of surgery, 11 years old(34 now), Dr Ellenbogen was one of the only surgeons that specialized in Arnold Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia as it was a very little known defect. Through the whole process of scans, before and after surgery this man saved my life. He is so knowledgeable in his field it made things less scary. If I had a child with any neurology issue, this man is the one to see. I will forever be grateful to him.

Dr. Ellenbogen removed my Craniopharyngioma when I was 7. I don’t regret my parents decision in the least.
