My goal is to provide the highest quality care for any gastrointestinal illness suffered by my patients. Quality of care not only includes the knowledge a physician can bring to aid a condition, but the manner in which he/she expresses and fulfills a diagnosis and treatment plan with the patient. I bring every aspect of my training at Mount Sinai Hospital in endoscopic technique, bedside manner, and expert diagnosis to each and every patient.

Dr. Akhtar was thorough and explained the outcome in terms that were easily understood. I am so happy to have found such a great... read more
