I’ve had numerous surgeries/procedures in my lifetime. Dr. Wender is the FIRST doctor in over 60 years to listen & believe me when I described my reaction to anesthetic agents & that my father & siblings have similar reactions!! She discussed every aspect with me & never ONCE questioned my validity or my family history. She has taken the fear & dread out of any future procedures I may have involving anesthesia! I only wish I could give her more than 5 stars!! THANK YOU, Dr. Wender!!!
Dr Wender talks with the patient in depth before surgery to ascertain the Best option for anesthesia for that particular patient. Her approach was/is collegial-cooperative rather than top-down "father knows best" . A prior surgery had left me wilted and nauseous and sleepy for days. After the anesthesia Dr Wender administered, I awoke feeling fully conscious and then the next morning felt eager for a cup of coffee instead of feeling queasy..... She's a miracle worer as far as I'm concerned.
I have been a patient several times for eye surgeries and other procedures where an anesthesiologist is present. None were less than excellent in their part of the job, but Dr. Wender is the only one to make the experience as stress free as possible. Her charm and friendly personality had me completely relaxed even before she began my anesthesia. My surgeon shared with me later that I should consider myself lucky to have been assigned Dr. Wender because she is also her personal favorite.
