I am extremely disappointed and appalled by the way this doctor spoke to my 80-year-old mother. Telling her that she has already lived her life and that she should not care about living into her late 90s is completely unacceptable. No physician should make an elderly patient feel as though her life is somehow less valuable simply because of her age.
