Merlo is a self consumed a__hole. Arrogant and rude. Office staff is incompetent and acts like patients are in their way. The PA is awful... has no medical smarts. Why does the medical community allow doctors like this one to continue practice?
I went in to Dr. Merlo for a second opinion. He spent all of 3 minutes with me. I explained my symptoms to him, told him that the other doctor I saw thought I had a torn labrum. Dr. Merlo said "No, I think it's joint disease" and sent me for an x-ray (I'm a healthy 24 year old female). After my x-ray I received no follow up. I had to call several weeks later to get my results. The girl at the front desk looked for my file and told me that I have a normal right shoulder, and hung up on me. My family and I have had Dr. Merlo (Ray) as our family care physician for over 30 years. His caring manner and diagnostic ability is truly above and beyond in this day and age. He would be irreplaceable should he ever retire.
I feel this doctor totally failed my mother. My mother had obvious signs of congestive heart failure and she though it was normal for her medicine.. she died of heart failure.. she had COPD and Emphysema and other issues.. but when she was in the hospital nobody called from their office or visited.. After she died.. months went bye and no call or letter or card. This guy is a typical pill pusher and I really think he doesn't have the caring or dedication that a real doctor does. Dr. Merlo is a great Dr, he diagnoses quickly and accurately. His staff is very helpful and efficient.
Dr Merlo has an excellent demeanor was always professional
I have seen Dr. Merlo, he is very caring and understanding. I have also seen the Pysician Assitant, and she is also very caring. I would recommend Dr. Merlo to the very best of my friends and family.
The front desk recepionist has been replaced with a helpfull your lady, who has called my wife to see how she was progressing with the treatment. Good call on this one.
I have not seen Dr Merlo just was in his clinic on Lake Ave in Redding one time in late May 08. They closed down June 08 and I was not notified until I went in to refill my prescriptions. The office staff on Harnell were uncaring and did not wish to help me at all. I had to go in there and yell for them to refill my prescriptions. an anti-inflammatory 1 weeks worth and effexor 1 weeks worth.
