Let me begin by saying that I like Dr Ashwath as a person. However, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of follow up, communication and genuine care that a patient should receive . The office lacks communication and follow up. I called his office all week for a refill of my medication. I kept being told that the doctor has not approved it yet. The day following my "routine" colonoscopy by Dr. Ashwath at the Brandon Surgery Center, one of the clips came off. The result was massive internal bleeding and an ambulance ride to Tampa General. I was there for over 3 days, and out of work for a week. My wife also missed work due to my hospital stay. In spite of this, my lost pay, and hospital and ambulance copays - these guys not only continue to try to insist that this is "normal," they continue to bill me for the co-pay for the procedure. I made an appointment based on the list of recommendations my primary gave me. It took me three months to get in for the appointment. I called the morning of just to confirm and was told I was good to go. I arrived in the afternoon and was then told they didn't take my insurance. I provided my insurance information when making the appointment. While the staff was sympathetic it doesn't help for all the wasted time. Highly Recommend Dr.Ashwath was a pleasure to meet. His staff fit me in before my 1st appt because I was having pains that I couldn't wait any longer for. They were so kind & polite. Dr.Ashwath was polite & to the point. He listened. My husband had to do a lot of the talking for me because I lost a lot of sleep & in a lot of pain. He immediately put me at ease. Dr. Ashwath might be a good doctor, but the service offered is very disappointing and terrible. There has never ever been any follow-up a procedure on Jan 16th, 2023, been having complications since. After constant running around for last 2-weeks, finally I was given a tele-appointment for 4:15pm for today (2/07/2023). collected the service changers promptly its 5:20pm, HOUR PAST SINCE THE APPOINTMENT, here I am sitting by the phone, waiting. Excellent everything. Very knowledgeable, understanding, trust his judgement, staffs great, Dr takes his time and goes out of his way to help patients out. Great man, great doctor.

Visit was quick and to the point, which was a plus for me. He stated what he thought would be the best course of action for treatment and it looked appropriate for my issue. Scheduled a follow procedure with relatively short gap from first appointment. Highly satisfied.
