I am writing an honest review of the staff at Dr. Philip Yuan's office on behalf of a family member who is the patient. As a first-time cash patient, I felt I was treated differently compared to when I had insurance. While I was initially greeted by the staff and told to proceed with surgery, two months went by without any calls or updates from the office manager. Dr. Yuan is a first rate orthopedic surgeon with 20+ years experience and probably over 2000 back surgeries. My entire experience from beginning to end was seamless. He was very communicative, very careful, and very thorough. My operation was a ectomy and a laminectomy. Doctor Yuan’s expertise is responsible for returning my quality of life to what I had decades ago. In my situation, including fusion and laminectomy, there was never any post op pain.
