I am very enthusiastic with this doctor. He showed great sensitivity to my problem and he helped me a lot! I was looking long time to find a doctor who cares and I am very thankful I find him.
I am very disappointed with this doctor. I decided to go with him because he was the only psychiatrist I could get an appointment with - unfortunately that's probably because all the good psychiatrists in the area are not taking any new patients. I went to my first session and he immediately wrote me a prescription for antidepressants and mood stabilizers before he even got a chance to really know me or what was going on with me. During my initial visit, Dr Khoshgavar cut me off repeatedly, never letting me finish what I was saying. Despite having never met me nor seen my medical records, he felt he was an instant judge of what I needed to be on. As stated by others, that meant a severe medication change. I have never encountered such incompetence. He was condescending, abrasive, and lacked even the most basic clinical skill: interpersonal tact. Don't waste your time.
I walked in with a list of medications that I was on for years with my old psychiatrist who retired. I told him they worked well. He looked at the list and gave ne different meds. Now I have to take off work and go back every two weeks to see if they are working. I have to look for another doctor.
He does not listen. He told me to be quiet while he was writing. Find someone else
When I attempt to explain something to him he doesn't seem to comprehend what I am saying and starts talking about a speculation that has nothing to do with what I was trying to explain. He can be insensitive. It seems that he only really cares about experimenting with new medication every time I go in there, and doesn't take time to get to know me, which would greatly improve his practice. Instead he makes false accusations to my face, because he isn't listening. It is very frustrating trying to work with him. Time to get a... read more
