Whilst I appreciate the help and the kindness of the staff, he’s not good at communication with my doctor or me.
This is a psychiatrist who is very open with information and works collaboratively with people. He’s compassionate, open minded and respectful. He can be very direct, but I absolutely appreciate that and is able to manage a bit of push back on ideas. He really has gone out of his way to help me and is extremely knowledgeable regarding medications.
Dr Pek Ang is an incredibly thoughtful, empathetic, and insightful psychiatrist. He is not someone who runs their own agenda, but rather a collaborative & supportive professional who is focused on helping to find the right solutions for each individual. I find his insights & thoughtful approach invaluable. If you are looking for a psychiatrist who works WITH you instead of dictating TO you than I can't recommend Dr Pek Ang highly enough.
Pek Ang prescribed me lithium and told me there were virtually no side effects as it the most natural and common treatment for Bipolar. I was young and extremely vulnerable and am only now after several years realising how wrong this is. I now have severe polyuria which has also given me insomnia and I am worried about the health of my kidneys and am wondering whether I could have diabetes too, which occurs with lithium as well.
