Dr Paul Sparks is an eminent Melbourne cardiologist who has cared for me on several admissions since 2020 for atrial fibrillation, chest pain and angiogram. His style of practice is personable, available, vastly experienced and highly skilled. I have trusted him with my life and will readily do so again if necessary. The data breach referred to by others was made completely transparent to his patients throughout, handled professionally in an admirable way, and can unfortunately happen in any occupation. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I was extremely surprised to find a letter from this practice regarding a data breach since I saw Dr Sparks in 2018 while a patient at Epworth hospital. I wouldn't have thought records would have been kept for seven years for such a transitional visit, which turned out to be incorrect in any case.
Considering the comments already on this Practice, there is definitely an abrupt and rude inference. To this end the data breach speaks much about this professional the practise has obviously taken a less than serious attitude to protecting the IT system and hence patients sensitive records. On 9/6/25 I received an email informing me that this doctor's rooms were a target of cyber crime & that an unauthorised third party gained access & removed data. On 19/6/25 I received another email informing me that my personal information may have been removed & made available online. If this has happened to me it may also have happened to you.
