He has no bedside manner and is rude. Terrible communication skills. Wouldn’t recommend him to my worst, wait, I would recommend him to my worst enemy.
Clearly a well trained and educated doctor. But lots of doctors that went through a residency and passed boards are competent. But when you are sick, in pain, worried, and your loved ones are worried with you, and your doctor is sarcastic, rude and lacks compassion, it makes having to process stressful information unnecessarily more difficult. Dr. van Zijl is the architect of my successful fight against prostate cancer. I became his patient in 2018. He guided me to an excellent surgeon to remove the cancerous gland. As I adjusted to life post surgery Dr. van Zijl prescribed physical therapy that resulted in immediate improvement in my quality of life. A a few months later my PSA made a slight increase. Really nice person who cares.
I absolutely love this doctor! I saw him for a kidney stone, and during my visit he was understanding and caring! He listens to any needs or concerns you might have during your visit.
I would not recommend Dr. Van Zijl or this office. I would urge you to find another practice that is better managed, with staff whose priority would be their patients well being rather than money.
