Performed brain surgery on my wife and left cotton at 2 locations, one of which blinded her in one eye in 8 months and both had to be removed 2 years later by a different surgeon. She was totally ambulatory at that time. Fortunately she is functional now but handicapped due to his surgery.

Dr. Shih was assigned to me after being admitted to the hospital. Due to some delays in other areas, I was told Dr. Shih went home for the evening. I was devastated as I was in such pain and would have to wait overnight for a plan to be put in place. But an hour later, he walked into the room to go over my scans and make a plan for surgery for the next day. He had gone home to eat with his family and then come back up to the hospital to see me. My husband was not at the hospital at that time and had a lot of questions. After... read more

Dr Shih is compassionate towards his patients and is easy for other doctors to get in contact with him. These two attributes lead to a speedy recovery. He listens to your concerns and is always available to talk to. More personable than most doctors I've dealt with I have to say. Highly recommended!

Dr. Shih saved my father'said life and for that we will be forever grateful. He communicated very well with our family and discussed risks and benefits. We are so incredibly blessed that Dr Shih trusted his instincts and did what he felt was necessary for our father. Can not say enough about him!!

He was called in to see me while I was in the Methodist hospital after receiving to heart stents. I was brought back to the hospital with extreme pain. The heart Doctor thought it might be a neuro type situation so he was called in,barely spoke to me. He ordered a MRI and thought he would get back with me after the test he never came back and told me anything. He seemed very arrogant and put out about being in my room the first place. I would never make an appt. with him and I mean never.
