I attempted to get a referral to an orthopedic surgeon for knee pain that I have been experiencing since my surgery in 2019. I had a physical exam with my pcp Oscar Ruiz in Jan 2025, and also mentioned this during my visit. I recently reached out to the office to get a referral for an orthopedic specialist and was told that I need to see Dr. Ruiz first. This is a complaint because my elderly mother cannot get an appointment to see her dr within a fair amount of time. She has to wait almost a month which is ridiculous. On the weekend she made a call to get a prescription of prednisone for her asthma, was told the on call Dr will contact her and never did. She's been struggling and it's not fair for elderly person to have to spend 24 hrs in the emergency room when she has her own Dr.
