Completely unprofessional, rude. We have a child with a genetic dental condition that is causing suffering, we thought a plan of action was in place for an oral surgery. We went for the pre-op appointment and were sprung with thousands of dollars being requested THAT MOMENT in order to continue with the surgery in under two weeks. We were not prepared for this and the nurse told us "you should have been told at the last appointment, I should have told you on the phone but I thought they already did." I took my 3 year old to this dentist. She was excited at first, but then got nervous. They had her sit on a giant bean bag in a semi dark room, and the dentist cleaned and examined her teeth on a bean bag, which both she and I found strange. She looked uncomfortable too. We had read a book about going to the dentist for months ahead of time and she was expecting to sit in a normal dental chair, so I think it threw her off.
