Usually a long wait, but nice staff and docs Whenever I have visited this office, I have encountered a long wait (usually at least 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment). The staff is very competent and nice though, as are the doctors, especially Dr. Brown. Recently the office changed ownership and possibly improved the wait, but I don't know for sure.
Dr Glasson Dr Glasson is the primary doctor on staff. I have been going there for many years and the office has had a turn over every time I go. I have seen many doctors come & go. The office staff has a few regulars, but usually someone new when you go in. Dr Glasson is OK but sometimes a bit harsh for someone who doesn't know her. I stay because she is willing to listen to what I want for my care.
EXTREMELY DISPLEASED I have worked for physicians offices before and I can honestly say that Dr. Schafer is by far one of the worst when it comes to bedside manor and caring about patients. My daughter is not his established pt but has seen him on numerous occasions when Dr. Brown was not available. On all occasions we waited more than 30 minutes to be seen and one particular one was during clinic and we waited over 2 hours! (There were 3 others in the office). Horrible receptionist!!!!!! Unfortunately, his wait times have increased exponentially to the point where, going to see him is usually a half-day event. For this reason, and the rudness of the receptionist, I am thinking seriously of finding a new doctor. I do have to say, however, that he's very thorough, caring and has a great sense of humour. Great for older crowds I had Dr. Lawless for roughly 16 years. My mom abosolutely loves her and can relate to her. I on the other hand did not find her that exciting, she does not like to write prescriptions which is fine to some people, but I am more of a quick fix person and that bothered me. She knows her stuff but I feel that she didn't fully listen to me because I was the same age as her daughter.
Hospital Gift Shop Northern Mi Hospital has a wonderful gift shop. It is small but packed with alot of items. I love the fact that they have alot of items under $20 that make great gifts for family and friends that are in the hospital. They also have wonderful floral arrangements. Will help you bright up anyones day.
