Incredibly unprofessional. Dr. Vikil was rushed and did not even ask what my symptoms were. He had incorrect information on my medical history and also did not have correct information on a hereditary disease that runs in my family. I was embarrassed for him.
I’ve seen Dr. Vakil for years , have done study’s for new medications with him. I was at my regular dr visit where he practiced at the time. I had symptoms that made them both have concerns. He scheduled a ct scan right there and then while I was seeing my family practice dr. He has always shown nothing but kindness towards me. He has tried to help me with my issues over the years.
Dr. Vakil is a good doctor, but his personality, sensitivity and over likability is below average. As a medical doctor he rates a 4 to 5 stars, but when it comes to patient emotional care, he gets a 1 star. I've considered switching doctors, but I don't want to start all over. So I tolerate him and accept he's there not to be my friend but a doctor. I'm good with that. I will say, his nurses are AMAZING and he has been successfully treating my disease.
He was very thorough. Was trying to find a better solution for my situation. Overall, way better experience than previous clinic I was at-felt like it was a machine there; just trying to crank out people/colonoscopies.
When seeing Dr. Vakil he really takes the time to listen and makes you feel comfortable. I might have to go in, in a couple of weeks for an esophagus test and definitely trust his judgement on what has been causing my chest pains the past couple of months.
I have struggled with gastro and digestive issues all my life. I have to many Dr's that have misdiagnosed, or didn't care to look into anything further. Dr. Vakil gave me some real answers and gave me a thorough examination. I really appreciate how he took the time to solve my issues, so much so I travel all the way from Chicago to MKE for appts.
