I recommend caution. I came to Dr. Shumaker in 2021, after moving to the area. His plan of care was so drastically different from the plan with my previous periodontist that I balked. I’m glad I did. He was adamant that I needed all my teeth upper and lower extracted to be replaced with all-on-four implants and that the work needed to be done within a year. I thought I'd found the perfect periodontist. All my life I've had "teeth issues", so I've always been on the lookout for a better dentist, a better periodontist, and so on. On May 5, 2023, Dr. Shumaker began the first part of my implant procedure, extracting two upper teeth. For the second time in my 73 years I asked for nitrous oxide. After what seemed like a few minutes Dr. Shumaker began the procedure while I vaguely heard him and is assistant discussing what was going on. The next thing I knew, I woke up feeling refreshed, with absolutely NO pain!
