My husband had open heart surgery in December of 2022 at Cleveland Clinic. He is the best. We traveled an hour away from home. He repaired two heart valves.
Dr. Smedira performed a myectomy on me 10 days ago. I was discharged from the hospital in 6 days after the open heart surgery requiring perfusion. This guy is the best!! GOAT! True hero and what makes up the backbone of our society. TJB surgery on 6/4/21
Dr. Smedira operated on both of my parents. He gave us extra years with both parents, time we wouldn't have had if we relied on their local doctors. Can't say enough good about him.
Had tricuspid valve replaced December 6, 2017. In 2011, I had a mitral valve and an aortic valve replaced at another hospital. Was a little apprehensive about having a 3rd valve replaced. Dr Smedira is an excellent heart surgeon, and I was very comfortable after he explained what he would do to fix my problem. I came home on the 5th day after surgery. This doctor and Agee, (nurse practitioner?), are amazing. World class care. Will always be grateful for their care and concern.
Dr. Smedira has performed 2 operations on me in 2013 & 2014. The first surgery was a septal myectomy and the second was a mitral replacement. I had no pain with either surgeries. The 2014 surgery went just like a breeze. Believe it or not the day of my surgery the staff was running ahead of schedule!! Dr. Smedira has a great sense of humor. I'm getting ready to contact Dr. Smedira re: a leaky aortic valve. I would trust no one but Dr. Smedira to "slice and dice" on me. By the way I had no pain after both surgeries!
Went for more surgery . Does not operate unless absolutely necessary was very happy with that.
I went to Cleveland from Florida for a double bypass and myectamy. I found Dr. Smedira and his staff to be extremely comforting and reasuring. The surgery was a complete success and my suffering from extreme chest pain has finally come to an end. I thank this whole team from the bottom of my heart.
