I have, unfortunately had several bad experiences at Porter Regional whenever my Grandmother has to be admitted. I have, on multiple occasions had to report MDs and RNs for improper protocol or lack of attention to some MAJOR health factors. But today, when my sweet Grandma had to be taken by ambulance to the ER, we were Blessed enough to have the amazing Dr. Shaffer! In the e/r for chest discomfort. Dr. Shaffer listened to symptoms and asked questions. He was empathetic, understanding and knowledgeable.
I had been battling extreme pain in my side and my family doctor was unable to diagnose my problem. As I had a major pain attack, I found myself in the er and was blessed to have Dr. Shaffer in charge of my care. He did the appropriate tests and blood work and found the source of my problem. I had surgery a week later and I've never been more grateful!
Dr. Shaffer was fast and efficient. He took the time to explain the procedures he was performing.
Dr. Schaffer recognized that the bite on my hand was dangerous and got me treatment right away which saved my hand.
