TL;DR: I strongly recommend finding another dentist. I went to this office for a simple filling on a front tooth — something I assumed any competent dentist could handle. During my visit, the dentist kept trying to upsell me on teeth whitening, which I politely declined. I scheduled a cleaning and left, thinking everything was fine. I went in for a routine check up last week including X-rays and a cleaning. Immediately after my X-rays were taken, Dr. Mohana Awasthi came into the room and informed me with the utmost confidence and certainty that I would need either a crown or root canal… This was surprising news to me as I have had no pain or indication that anything was wrong with my tooth. I've been here only once and today's experience was inadequate. Since this dentist takes medi-cal it seems she rushes appointments and makes multiple ones within 30 min of each other to get more money. I basically can't get another cleaning for 6 months and she's going to bill my insurance. I got called in at 3:50 and saw her shortly after that, only to get a 10 minute cleaning. Not sure if this is a CA thing but the doctor did my cleaning and was told they do not floss your teeth after a cleaning. I have never been to a dentist office that didn't floss your teeth.
