Went to him first many years. That was my mistake! He over medicated me and gave me a long term medication that turned out to be really for short term only. I ended up in the hospital. This man should not be practicing.!

Absolutely awful experience. As a patient in an Assisted Living Facility I had filed 28+ well documented complaints and violations. The Executive Director Dan Silva, in retaliation , contacted Dr. Elrafei a so-called geriatric psychiatrist to perform an evaluation for "behavioral problems," such as throwing trays and other objects, slamming doors, abusive and derogatory language toward staff members and telling them they should be deported, staff members coming into the room in pairs for protection, etc. etc. Instead of foll... read more

0 stars. 10 years later and 15-20 medications including anti-anxiety medications, mood stabilizers and anti-psychotic medications I fell 1000% on my own without psychiatric medications. I have a B.A. in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and some Master’s of Social Work studies completed. I have come to learn that mental illness is what you make of it.
