As usual there are a lot of providers who are dismissive of African American women we we say we have pain and here is another one. She walked into the room basically indicating, "I really don't know why your here, your US was normal." When it clearly was not, it has never been normal and it has actually worsened. I was so pleased to find such a great OB/GYN in my new home town. Dr. Cooper spent more time with me at my first visit than any other doctor has. I have a history of breast cancer and she always addresses my concerns in a kind and patient manner. She has great recommendations to help me manage menopause also. I highly recommend her!
She is quite rough with the internal exam. My first one, she tore my skin a little. The second time she tore my skin so much I bled. She did nothing to treat it. She just gave me a weak, ops sorry. There is no excuse to cause a woman’s skin to tear on a routine exam. I had to go home and treat myself for bleeding. I am an adult, imagine if I were a young girl or adolescent.
I love Dr. Cooper. She's smart and has a great sense of humor. She's worked closely with me to find answers to issues I was having and has made herself available to me when needed. Great personalized care.
I've never had such a terrible experience for annual visit. Dr. Cooper was not only rude, dismissive but did not give me opportunity to speak about some concerns I had. I wanted to get blood work done to check my hormones and she said to me, "you get your period that's all I need to know". As if she has to pay or go get the blood work done for you. My visit with Dr.Cooper was at the Dedicated to Women's location in Lewes.
