Called to scheduled an appointment after reading the reviews and thought she would have been the right choice. The receptionist told me that she wasn't someone who does psychological diagnosis, but someone who deals the elderly and people with brain damage. Dr. Emick is extremely knowledgeable in her field. I have learned much from her and have been able to appy it. This was extremely helpful to me and I am better off that I have been in years!
Dr. Emick is the kind of therapist who makes you feel right at home – her office is clean but cozy, with a beautiful aquarium in the waiting room and two sweet therapy dogs to cuddle. Dr. Emick is always so kind and patient with my elderly mother, who has dementia. She talks to her not over her and always listens to her full response before speaking. She never rushes her or gets impatient. What a jewel! Denton is lucky to have such a good specialist.
First things first. I sought treatment here because I'm a mental mess. I came here for my appointment yesterday which had been one of the worst days of my life. Dr. Emick refused to see me because I didn't have the paperwork ready prior to the appointment. My printer isn't working so I figured I would fill it out when I got there. I mean, that's what I've done at every other place in that situation. Despite me being in tears and on the verge of suicide Dr. Emick would not see me because the paper work would've made me 15 min... read more
