The reality is that Dr. Haglund is an old guard doctor who does nothing but fusion surgeries. Across Europe, and in increasing numbers in the best hospitals in the world surgeons are doing artificial disk replacements that maintain mobility and are increasingly shown to last as long as fusions. I LOVE DR. HAGLUND!! I was misdiagnosed two years ago with MS (not from Duke). What I did find out was that my whole C spine was herniated with bone spurs. I had severe cervical myelopathy and severe spinal stenosis. I happened to be lucky enough to get worked in sooner than my original appointment with Dr. Haglund. Absolute best neurosurgeon!!! Dr Haglund has the BEST bedside manor and explains every detail and best of all believes in God's hands guiding him through surgery. He is humble and prays over you before each procedure. I am sooo blessed to have such a wonderful experience with surgery and would only have him ever preform any further surgeries. I had a smooth recovery with a 4 level fusion. Dr Hoagland and nurse Sarah are 1st class in their care. I highly suggest Dr. Hagland for cervical surgery.
