I had medullary thyroid cancer that was undetected until my calcitonin level was over 2000. (Normal is <14.) My wife and I thought about surgery at Mayo in Rochester but we met with Dr. Traynor and felt comfortable with him as my surgeon. He removed my thyroid and 30 lymph nodes. My calcitonin level has been negligible since then. (Six years.) And I have since met an OR nurse from Sanford that shares our respect for him. Five stars all the way.
Botched thyroidectomy. After talking to someone from my area of the state, she too used Dr Traynor and had the same complication as myself. Screwed up the vocal cords in the surgery causing me to lose my voice for 9 months. Still suffer to this day and always will.
