Guy knows what he's doing. Been doing hernia repairs for years and did a great job with mine. His staff is great as well. Only downside is the convoluted Vanderbilt system and the nonsense/errors that arise from that, but if you're involved with your own care and aren't blind to what's happening around you, the doctor himself is awesome.
Many people who are the best in their field tend to be aloof or even arrogant. Dr. Hotzman is clearly the best surgeon around and is the most down-to-earth doctor I've ever met. He explains things in a way that you can understand. He genuinely wants to help you. I had a combination of procedures that most doctors would have walked away from. Not only did he solve the problems, he did so graciously and helpful. It's too bad there are only five stars here . . . Dr. Holzman deserves at least ten!
Dr. Holzman is a phenomenal surgeon. He had to clean up a mess from a prior surgery that no other surgeon would touch. The results were better than I could hope for. He explains everything, answers everything question and very thorough. My one suggestion is to find a better way to schedule appointments. The only way to contact him or his office (that I know of) is through the patient portal. All of my appointments have been through telehealth.
Scheduled a hernia surgery with Dr Holzman around a month ago. Dr Holzman seemed knowledgeable but dealing with his office since has been an absolute nightmare. I've made multiple calls re rescheduling that have not been returned. The office for an estimate has made constant excuses for not giving an estimate on the procedure. I do not trust this offices ability to provide surgery if they can't even make good on a schedule or estimate.
