If you need a Gastro surgeon, Matt Schultzel is recommended. Having had 2 major surgeries in the last year, I can vouch for his professionalism and his proficiency with the non-invasive, robotic surgery. His staff is well trained and considerate.
I waited over a year to write this review, because who really knows if they did a good job in the first few months following a surgery? My inguinal hernia first appeared last summer and during the initial consultation, Dr. Schultzel agreed to postpone the surgery until after the Bike MS 150 event that October. We did the surgery in November, he allowed me to resume easy running two weeks following the surgery, but cycling waited until after the six-week checkup. Dr. Matthew Schultzel removed my severely enlarged gallbladder recently, which had been problematic for several years. He is professional and kind and I have to say that from my first appointment to post surgery, he made everything easy for me. He is an excellent doctor/surgeon who has a great bedside manner and is organized and efficient. I'm glad I found him and I highly recommend him.
Had to see Doc a few years ago and again recently. A couple of visits and good as new. Schultzel does a great job back there.
No one wants to undergo major surgery but when you need to, Dr. Matthew Schultzel is the surgeon you want. He and his team are compassionate, thorough, patient and highly-skilled. He makes sure that his expertise translates into a standard of care that sets his patients up for the best possible recovery for them (if you do your part and trust the process :-).
