My interest in becoming a family physician extends about as far back as I can recall. It was largely influenced by my mother who worked in nursing for many years. I chose Jefferson Medical College for the strength of its leadership training program in Family Medicine. As a student and resident I worked with different American Indian populations. Dr. Mathias has been my primary care physician for 18 years. I have always received excellent care. He allows time to listen and answers my questions carefully. He is also very knowledgeable with regard to modern medicine (see note below) and has been on target with diagnoses and treatments for any problems I have had.Note: I discovered at my last appointment that Dr. Mathias' knowledge of ancient and medieval medicine is somewhat lacking. He is very knowledgeable, caring, competent and compassionate physician. The best thing is that he truly listens and addresses your concerns and does a wonderful job of explaining. Our whole family wait for his slot to get empty for their appointments.
Had a great experience with Dr. Mathias. Very thorough and thoughtful. Actually listened to my input and gave me adequate time. Did a great job of explaining his thought process on his feedback and answered all questions I had. I feel very cared for here.
I have been seeing Dr.Mathias for a number of years. He is the most intelligent and compassionate physician I have ever met. He truely listens to your concerns and does a wonderful job of explaining. He never makes you feel rushed during visits. I cannot say enough nice things about him. I would give him over 5 stars if I could.
