I disclosed all medicine at pre-op appointment. I followed all prep instructions. Minutes before the procedure, the doctor said it probably won’t be successful; there are different prep instructions because of my prescriptions. What, what?!?!It seemed like he didn’t review my med list until minutes before procedure. I am not redoing the procedure. At least not with this doctor. I would never trust THIS doctor.
Dr. Kowal performed surgery for two hernia’s in one procedure for me in 2018. He was thorough in describing the procedure, as well as what to expect post surgery. He was very professional, straight forward, and ensured I had answers to any questions I had. No complications from surgery. Dr. Kowal repaired a hernia a few months ago. He is young and trained in all of the new techniques in hernia repair. Though I had ripped open badly-I actually had three hernias-he repaired them with only three small incisions. I recovered quickly and within five weeks was backpacking hundreds of miles on the Pacific Crest Trail. Dr. Kowal took great care to ensure that surgery was the least invasive as possible so I could resume doing the things I enjoy. I recommend him w/ 5 stars.
