Dr. Mark Gilder gave me my life back. I suffered from 4th degree chronic Hemorrhoids. Internal a prolapsed for years. It got very bad this past Thanksgiving and was unable to self manage anymore. I called him on a Monday and I saw him the same day for a consultation. Everyone in his office was extremely kind and accommodating. Performed colon resection on my mother, sent her home with packing/dressing and says come back in a week. She came back in septic shock and was placed on a vent for about two weeks. She was in the hospital for over a month, came home on hospice and died a week later. No one from his office reached out. I'm beyond heartbroken and thoroughly disgusted to say the least.

After having surgery with him I almost died and was in an icu on a respirator. After that his behavior towards me was okay until i had fully recovered. After he was confident that I would not sue him or file a complaint he treated me condescendingly and with disrespect. The icing on the cake was when my ostomy supply company mistakenly called him instead of my current doctor for approval of my supplies and he told them I was not to be given any supplies because I had not seen him in years. Friendly, humorous and caring. He explained everything in detail and fixed the very painful fistula I had with just one surgery.

From my first visit and threw the last surgery for the removal and treatment of rectal tumor, my experience with Dr Guilder was wonderful, even in this difficult circumstance The surgeries went great and were successful in removing all cancer. I will always be great-full to Dr Guilder. He is a excellent DR. I would recommend him even to close family members.

If you are trying to find a colorectal doctor, please do not look any farther. You found him! I am about to celebrate 10 years NED because of Dr. Gilder. When diagnosed with Stage IIIa colon cancer at the age of 41, he performed a sub-total colectomy. Was out of the hospital in 2.5 days. I thought Dr. Gilder was both professional and friendly. He explained everything about the procedure I was undergoing beforehand and stopped by my bedside in recovery to go over this findings. I would definitely recommend him.
Doctor Gilder is not only a brilliant surgeon but a respectful partner in my health care. I felt very comfortable speaking with him, never feeling rushed. I can't imagine anyone being more professional.
