I had very little hope for my son's rare cancer. Went to MD Anderson and felt like he was just another number. His Dr. there was very cold. I prayed and prayed that I would find the correct treatment for him and God knew my concerns. This man lied to us about my dad’s cancer being gone, had him ring the bell, let my dad go weeks without treatment, then told us he never said it was gone. (Why let him ring the bell if he still had cancer?) The whole time we thought his cancer was gone, it was advancing and spread to his lungs. Go to MD Anderson. I believe my dad would still be alive if we had done that from the start.
Dr Mark D'andrea saw me explained everything and strongly suggested getting a stomach pump since my cancer lies on my voice box, may not feel like swallowing, feed myself thru tube. We're off to the races, he's made me feel confident positive and cared about. I absolutely TRUST HIM. I LOVE A STRAIGHT SHOOTER . Here goes my 6 week journey.
I appreciate the caring bedside manner of Dr. D’Andrea. He explains the diagnosis in understandable detail and he follows up with appropriate tests needed for continuation of treatment. I was grateful to finally have a doctor who doesn’t recklessly “brush off” test results but Dr. D’Andrea thoroughly goes through them with me.
