Dr. Yonahara was compassionate yet frank & clear in her explanation of her diagnosis of my illness.She gave me very practical advice and was very patient regarding my concerns. After following her instructions, I have recovered. I was very, very impressed and felt very fortunate that she was able to make time for me. Bottom line: Because she was so frank, I was able to take real steps In improving my health. We should have more brilliant doctors like her.
I scheduled a physical exam with her, because I needed a certificate from a M.D. stating that I am free of any contagious deseases, for my students visa. I explained to her and the nurses that there was no form for her to sign or anything like that. I read to her what the requirements where before I went to the appointment. She told me to take that requirement with me to the appointment. Not very pleased with my experience. Dr. Yonahara didn't seem very personable or like she really cared about what I was coming for. I was hoping to get answers and she seemed to brush off my concerns by telling me that there's nothing I can do for hyperpigmentation/melasma aside from going on hormone therapy or having my ovaries removed, and I just don't believe that or think it's a good answer. Super bad experience with this doctor. Diagnosed me with something the ER later said was completely wrong without ever examining my body! Do yourself a favor and don’t go there.
Our experience with Dr Yonahara was positive but her office staff is completely incompetent. They took over two weeks to renew my 2 pill prescriptions. Pre Corona time frame. My wife called her office this morning and requested a consultation for her UTI and the office worker called back at 4 not even knowing what her complication was. They are the most unorganized health office I have ever seen. One Star was a gift
