In a little white office next to the house in Fairchance where I grew up, my grandfather, Dr. Mark Montgomery was a doctor for generations of local families. As a child, I saw the patients come and go from my grandfather?s office, but I did not yet understand the impact he had on the community, or on me. As I grew up, I knew family medicine was the only choice for me. I wanted to know and treat the entire family and the entire person, just like my grandfather did.
