The way Dr. Tejeda treated me still haunts me. I think of her regularly, and the way she completely dismissed my concerns will probably shape the way I interact with doctors forever. I went to her at a time where I thought I was dying, actively passing out from blood loss, unable to eat, sleep, or work due to how bad my periods were. She took one look at me and shushed me.
