I love Dr Helmick! Have gone to her for awhile! Always helpful and thorough!!
Dr. Helmick seemed knowledgeable about my concerns, but was abrasive, rude and condescending. I expected a female OBGYN to be intuitively compassionate, gentle and understanding - yet she was none of these. I left feeling misunderstood and almost verbally abused. Look elsewhere.
I was told I was too young to be trying to have a baby (I'm in my 20s) and that she recommended I stop trying and came off as very rude, condescending, and in-personable and barely let me get a word in to explain how I felt and my history and what I wanted. I cried in the room with her because of how she made me feel. Wouldn't recommend seeing her especially if you're young TTC, she made me feel dumb for doing my own research at home, even though I was visiting for help. An outstanding physician. Compassionate, explanatory and humorous...all traits you would hope to have in your doctor. Her knowledge of the field was clear along with her desire to provide the best possible care were also extremely evident. She made my wife feel like superwoman (even if I already knew she was) and that gave me a tremendous feeling of calm in an environment when calm is far from the norm. We cannot express enough gratitude. Thank you Dr. Helmick.
She was extremely condescending and rude at my 20 week anatomy appointment. I understand that she has delivered a lot of babies but since this is my first baby if my questions seem beneath her she could maybe try to hide her annoyance just a little. She is not my regular OB but because she is one of the associates and there is a 1 in 4 chance she could deliver my baby I will be finding a new OB.
A wonderful caring down to earth doctor, she performed a miracle for my daughter. i will always be grateful . Thank you Thank you Thank you.
She is quite knowledgeable, personable, honest, direct, empathetic, and a great advocate for her patients.
Everytime I go there I feel as though I'm being talked down to, I always leave there feeling bad about myself. I gained a lot of weight since starting birth control and she always has made it extremely clear to me that it's all my wrongdoings. It's like she degrades me because of it. I always leave there on the verge of tears.
