I had 5 fractures in my back & he didn't believe in vertobroplasty or khyoplasty.. I believe he should have advised me to go to a larger hospital near us for an evaluation for those procedures.. I still have chronic back issues that might have bern relieved by the procedures.
I was referred by my neurologist to see Dr. Maciolek, due to a bulged disc in my neck pressing on my spinal cord and was told that I need surgery soon (from neurologist). I made the appointment last week Thursday morning. I got a call from his rude nurse/assistant this morning. (I think her name was Joan) Stating that after looking at my scans, he won’t take my case. Wonderful experience with Dr. Maciolek from the first appointment to surgery and first follow up appointment. At the initial appointment, he patiently answered a long list of questions in depth to assure I had all the answers I needed before scheduling the surgery. He and his staff are friendly, attentive and quick to respond to any concerns. Dr. Maciolek is superb. He is calm, whip smart, patient, and so, so kind. He performed a laminectomy and spinal fusion on me almost 10 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
