Dr. Laura Sanders was truly incompetent. She spent no more than 10 minutes speaking with me. The majority of her questions were basic information (date of birth, email, etc.) and felt this was enough information to base her opinion on. She is not educated in how autism presents in adult females, and for her to claim that she is, is harmful. Her unprofessional behavior when I further inquired what she based her opinion on and why she dismissed information I felt was important was the most disappointing. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Sanders. I had been having my son evaluated since preK. I knew something was wrong but because he is profoundly gifted, everyone (pediatricians, psychologists, neuropsychologists ...) simply believed he was "quirky" due to his incredibly high I.Q. I couldn't get insurance to pay for therapy because I didn't have a diagnosis. Dr. Sanders did a thorough evaluation and provided a detailed report, explaining his autism diagnosis.
