Excellent doctor and had a proper medical diagnosis and treatment for my condition. However, you generally do see the nurse practitioner who is very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. One of the better nurse practitioners I've seen over the last 10 years though and even if the problem is multifaceted she always tries to find a way to go after the problem and attempt to fix it. Not to mention the office staff has always been quite professional including the LPN/RN, Nurse Practitioner etc.
Never get in to see dr Hunefeld always have to see the nurse practitioner
Haven't been able to see the dr. In 2 yrs. Always the nurse practioners. Been a regular patient for over 10 years but the last 3 years it has gotten worse. If you try to insist on an appointment to actually see the doctor you are told it will be at least a 3 week wait an the nurse practioners can do the same things. I am done begging.

I got into his office for my pregnancy confirmation exam within 3 weeks (my schedule conflicts were the problem), he continually urged me to seek proper tests and screenings despite my ability to afford healthcare and his office assisted me in being able to get Medicaid to pay for the necessary care my baby and I desperately needed. Hunefeld Larry R. M.D. A very caring doctor. The only thing is you have to wait two weeks to get an appointment with him. If you call and ask for an appointment you are automatically referred to see the nurse practitioner. This is OK, but sometimes you just need a doctor. If you don't mind the wait to see a doctor I would highly recommend this doctor. Also, a family member had a minor procedure done by this doctor and had an infection. Never want to change! I have had many experiences with family doctors, and never found one as great as Skip! He has always been there for my large family and his staff is very great!
