Excellent experience with Dr Chong. Had an emergency surgery with Dr Chong in Thousand Oaks in December for Perforated Diverticulitis and a follow up surgery in March for Ostomy reversal. Dr Chong was LITERALLY running away from me before I could ask him one single question about a port he implanted in my mother. The nursing staff witnessed this and tried to answer my questions. The port placement went fine, but I was disgusted with his lack of caring.
He took out my gallbladder. That went well but then six months after I got a hernia as a result of Dr. Chong missing the midline when he did the incission. I found another doctor to repair the hernia which was over 3 cm. As nice as he is and how well he did with my gallbladder, I can't recommend him.
Dr. Chong is one of the best. Very knowledgeable, 5 members of family have had surgery done by Dr. Chong. From Hernia repair to colectomy to cholecystectomy. I def recommend Dr. Chong.
Technically proficient, poor bedside manner, hernia surgery lasted three hours total. No difficulties. No post operative follow up from surgeon. Insurance was billed $25,000!

I recently had surgery performed by Dr. Chong. I found him to be a great listener, very caring, and excellent when it came to his stiching. My scar is practically non-existent. Surgery went very well. I would definitely use him again if needed. I am very happy with his knowledge and skill.
Dr.Chong performed multiple major abdominal surgeries on my dad. Surgeries were all successful without any complications. He is the best surgeon I have known in my 20 years of nursing.He is caring,compassionate and professional and he is also the best in placing cental line access. Thank you, Dr.Chong!
The doctor is very experienced but lacks a caring bedside manner making it difficult to feel comfortable with him
