I was diverted to Dr. Shanker for a same day appointment due to an urgent medical issue, my PCP was unavailable. The appointment itself did not seem too unusual and Dr Shanker seemed to listen to my concerns and the acute medical problem the led to my visit. Of course that is if you disregard the fact that she asked me if I was there to get pain medication. At no point had I asked for pain medication, nor was I planning on requesting to be given any. I love Dr. Shanker! She's incredibly knowledgeable. She's kind and thoughtful. She's informative. She makes me feel like we've been friends for years.
I don't feel like she gives me good care. Several times I have gone in for appointments and I've had to remind her to check the symptoms that brought me in for a visit .
