As a former neighbor of Kerlin Vanderpuije.. a sliding patio door window, picture window, and standard window were broken by his son while batting rocks against my house causing in excess of $1000.00 in replacement costs. Kerlin refused to reimburse me for any damage citing NY law which states a parent is not responsible for the negligent action of his child. The local police who were called to write a report indicated that normally a parent out of moral correctness will compensate for damages. Kerlin, however, refused to of... read more
