Saw him for a year weekly for severe Lyme disease. I did not improve. He talks during appointments repeating himself often. He missed that I had severe mold illness . Did not even address it. Have since greatly improved after finding a doctor who knew how to treat mold and Lyme. Do not trust him.
Dr. Ken Mitchel charged 850 dollars plus 200 dollars for phlebotomist for the first visit promising a three hour consultation. The appt. ended after 69 minutes. He prescribed a treatment plan with supplements that I was allergic to (I spent a lot of money for his recommended supplements), I called him as I was getting worse, he changed his prescription but still charged me for the appt. I had to pay for testing that did not uncovered my problem and when my PCP ordered the test with the regular lab and the cause of illness wa... read more
Dr. Mitchell tries to find solutions however his treatment plan is not for everyone. I believe that his Lyme Treatment is too “one size fits all” and he needs to work more on independent treatment plans. He spends lots of time in appointments but his treatment plans are too harsh for those with severe Lyme. If you have mild Lyme this may help you but he is too allopathic based, homeopathy or naturopathic goes much slower than what he does.
I have been to 5 other doctors in the Scottsdale area. Each one telling me there was nothing wrong with me. However; I lost 50 lbs. in 3 months without dieting. I knew something was wrong. I expected I was being poisoned somehow. I went to Dr. Mitchell in need of some immediate care. He suggested that I have a toxicology test run. It was expensive (my insurance doesn't cover the lab test). However; I couldn't afford to keep losing weight and being nauseous all of the time. To both my surprise and his, I had unbelievable high... read more
Dr. Mitchell is such a thorough practitioner who takes symptoms seriously and presents a workable plan for each patient. My symptoms have been increasing for over two decades and he nailed the root cause within the first 20 minutes of my eval. Now 3 months into treatment I am improving each week. He is so compassionate, and the staff are very kind.
Dr. Mitchell is a Lyme-literate naturopath. He has a thorough understanding of the complexities of the disease. He knows each patient is unique and tailors his approach for each individual. Dr. Mitchell spends ample time on both the physical exam and in his office answering questions, getting feedback about your experience and explaining the changes or additions to your protocol.. Dr. Mitchell also provides a written guide to take home which is incredibly helpful. Great staff, too!
Dr. Mitchell only cares about getting money from his patients. He is an arrogant, condescending and dismissive Dr. First it was $500 just to see him, then another $300 in supplements then another $1000 in recommended testing to which I was only able to do one test at that time which tested by gut biome. When the test came back I called his office and they gave me a vague answer. I asked to have more clarification of results from Dr.Mitchell to which they said would be another $90!!!
