I had my daughter when I was 20 (now 28) and this woman will never touch me ever again! I was having back labor and struggling to find comfort. She was incredibly insensitive. Laughed at me then told me I was going to “have a long labor if I was already feeling pain at 3cm” which now looking back… she’s out of line for saying that.. she pushed an epidural on me. Gardner was not experienced with providing care to someone who has mental illness bipolar. After having a baby at her hands three months, I began having serious mental health problems. My psychiatrist later told me that if my birthing doctor was experienced, she would have started me on specific medications in my third trimester. She is one of the best things that happened to Cayuga Medical Center. She knows her job and is down to earth. I had my 2 kids with her; one by C/section and the other by vaginal delivery.

I had major surgery performed by Dr. Gardnershe explained everything, was not at all condescending. The operation was perfect, excellent outcome. She and the whole team (Dr Shah was the anesthesiologist) made me as if I was their only patient.

Truly Excellent. She is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable, careful, gentle, compassionate, and often notices things which are not Ob-Gyn which need attention.

Skillful, knowledgeable, compassionate, congenial, attentive, truly interested, humble - these words describe Dr. Kathleen Gardner. I have had nothing but positive experiences as a patient in her care. Five stars are not enough.
