Dr. Kate Elzinga is knowledgeable and genuinely tries to be helpful. My experience with her was positive overall. However, my interaction with her assistant was less pleasant and came across as somewhat rude. I understand that healthcare staff work under a lot of pressure, but professionalism and respectful communication are still important.
I received top surgery in 2015 from a surgeon who was NOT Dr. Elzinga. The results of my first surgery without Dr. Elzinga were well below the average standard-of-care in Alberta. When I showed medical professionals photos of my healed first surgery, many would ask if I had only a “breast reduction,” as the results did not look like a double-incision double mastectomy with masculinization of the chest (the surgery I was supposed to have.) I had carpel tunnel surgery yesterday with Dr. Kate Elzinga and I am extremely pleased. She is very professional and explained everything to me through the whole process. I have had carpel tunnel for over 20 years and today, just one day after I see so much improvement. I am so grateful. I highly recommend her.

From the initial consultation to the post-operative follow-up, Dr. Elzinga exhibited professionalism, expertise, and genuine compassion. The surgical team was efficient and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.
I have had 2 surgeries by Dr Elzinga & not only does she have incredible skill & precision , she genuinely cares about her patients and work. I recommend her to everyone that has a similar situation I had. She really went above and beyond for me and I am eternally grateful!
