I had an expander put on and it felt perfectly normal. Didn't even notice it was there after a couple of days, and it did it's job! Braces were normal and didn't feel any major pains. They felt like they weren't there too after a couple of days. Very efficient dentist.
I went to two other orthodontists in the area, one in Tenafly and one in Closter. I chose one in Tenafly, and after 3 years of being in braces, I was not seeing any benefit. I had enough and quit. A few years ago, I tried again with Dr. Reisner. Wow, what a difference. She was technically extremely expert, always took lots of time to explain treatment, and after two years, wow! I now have a perfect bite and a great smile. Now I have both my kids in for treatment. One is nearly finished and he is looking excellent.
