Dr. Mertz has been a great resource for our newborn twins. She has twins herself and I find her to be empathetic, knowledgable (especially during this pandemic), and patient with our questions/concerns.
I have had negative foot issues for decades. Dr. Parks is amazing and a treasure to our community! She's obviously very knowledgable and professional. But what sets her apart is her emotional presence and empathy for the suffering of others. It's not just a profession for her, but a calling. When she's caring for you, you can tell that she truly cares. I trust her completely and feel so grateful that she's my doctor!
A few months ago I broke my ankle. It was a bad break with ligament damage. The surgery was complicated with of lots of bone fragments that had to be cleaned out. Dr. Parks was EXCELLENT. Through the whole process she has been professional, kind and patient with me and with my husband. Her staff was also very professional and patient with us. My ankle is healing very nicely and I'm almost back to normal. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Parks.
The visit started out okay but by the end, I was lead to believe I needed this special fungal product. I already had it at home and they would not issue a refund for the unopened product that was very pricey. I disputed the charge and was refunded by the credit card company but Dr. Parks' office continues to send invoices. Not impressed. They also tried getting 2 co-pays for the one visit which took 12 months with the insurance company to address that issue. I have a very high regard for the professionalism and empathy that Dr. Parks brings to patient care. I've personally had several surgeries that I absolutely needed and I trusted Dr. Parks in each case--and I was always more than pleased with my outcome. Dr. Parks and her medical assistant, Brooke are always prepared and always care about how I am feeling on a visit; it does not matter if it has already been a busy day for them; I am treated as if I were the first patient of the day! I had a meet and great with her and everything seemed fine. Then when I went to schedule with the office, they first scheduled me and then called back later denying us because our kids immunization records weren't fully up to date. They didn't even give us a chance to catch-up. She also told me she could treat one of my children and then the office later said she would not treat that condition. This office wasted quite a bit of my time that I could have been looking for another doctor.
Dr. Mertz has been wonderful with my twin boys. She really takes the time to listen and address all my questions and concerns, and is very friendly and kind. She has twins as well, so really can help answer questions twin moms face. Having a doctor who understands twin parenting has been a wonderful help.
